Levin Baseball Star Flynn Warren Secures U.S. Sports Scholarship

Levin’s Flynn Warren is set to take his baseball dreams to the next level after securing a four-year sports scholarship to Hawai’i Pacific University.

The 17-year-old pitcher, currently head boy at Waiopehu College, will join the Hawai’i Pacific Sharks baseball team in August 2025. The Sharks compete in the Pacific West Conference, part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division II.

Warren was offered the scholarship after a two-day baseball camp at the university, where his pitching skills stood out.

“It’s been my dream to play baseball at university, and now it’s happening. I’m pretty happy,” he said.

Warren’s passion for baseball began on a family trip to the United States nine years ago, when he attended a Los Angeles Angels game. His father later founded the Levin Hustle Baseball Club to support his son’s ambitions.

“I’ll always be thankful to my parents. After I started playing for the club, I was selected for New Zealand representative teams to play in international tournaments in America.”

Over the past year, Warren played for Bayside Westhaven Baseball Club in Auckland, helping the team win the 2024 national championship. He was also selected for the New Zealand Under-23 baseball team.

Warren will study business management while playing for the Sharks. He hopes to one day play for a Division I team in the United States.

“I hope to one day be selected for one of those teams,” he said.
